Hugo
December 2001:
Current Question: I don't remember
Answer: Hugo The Bear
Notes:
This particular message came to me in a dream:
There was a bear in a big cage that I was with and was teaching him things with rocks.
Then later when people were talking about how 'Hugo the Bear' was so famous and great, and I was telling them that I trained him, on one believed me.
I went outside to where there were so many baby bears gathered together under the porch and they were being very nice to me, and affectionate and telling me that I needed to come to the 3rd floor where there's something I need to learn.
After this powerful dream, I really didn't know what it was about so I searched 'Hugo' on the internet and the 'Hugo Awards' came up. As soon as I read about them, I knew that this dream was telling me that I was meant to one day be a winner of this award through Science-Fiction writing.
Looking back at this dream, after five years, I have the ability to see the meanings in a more objective manner.
At the time of this dream, the Bear had come into my life as a strong messenger: She became my spirit guide for a long time to come. I'd had uncountable dreams about Bears, most of which held important messages for me. So it's no surprise that this dream's message was delivered by another Bear.
Some of the significant symbolism in this dream:
The famous bear is in the cage/Hugo is in the cage - signifies trapped potential?
Teaching with rocks - perhaps the bear cannot get out of the cage (current situation?) but it can certainly learn while it's there. The rocks are significant of knowledge and learning leading to a "rock"- solid foundation with which to grow from once out of the "cage."
Hugo the famous bear - winning the Hugo is ultimately fame.
I told them I trained him but they didn't believe me! - trying to take credit for someone else's achievements? (hmmm) Trying to let someone know that you did something good (behind the scenes work - see Agamemnon).
Baby bears gathered under the porch - babies are both new and starting out. Being under a porch is like stepping up to the door and then deciding to hide instead of knocking or opening. It's like someone starting a new venture but they have barely begun because they are too afraid to.
They're being very nice to me and I have to go learn something on the 3rd floor - getting the necessary comfort needed in order to make my journey to the 3rd floor (obviously meaning get out from under the porch, open the door and make the damn journey!)

Hugo Award
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"The Hugo Award is given every year for the best science fiction or fantasy works of the previous year. The award is named after Hugo Gernsback, the founder of the pioneering science fiction magazine Amazing Stories. The award categories have changed over time as the field of science fiction has grown and evolved. Hugo Awards have been presented every year since 1953, except 1954."
Message:
A career message, that's for sure. Not only does it tell me the kind of writing I need to do, it gives me a tangible goal (win the 'Hugo Award'), and it tells me what I need to do to help achieve that goal (Gain knowledge through learning to create a solid foundation with which to work from, and make sure I open the doors (or at least knock) I need to in order to move forward.

"Science fiction, literary genre in which a background of science or pseudoscience is an integral part of the story. Although science fiction is a form of fantastic literature, many of the events recounted are within the realm of future possibility."

Science fiction is the most important literature in the history of the world, because it's the history of ideas, the history of our civilization birthing itself. ...Science fiction is central to everything we've ever done, and people who make fun of science fiction writers don't know what they're talking about.
