Candle Magic

Quitting Smoking? Use acrylic paint and candle medium to paint a filter and burner onto a white taper. Light the "cigarette" any time you feel a major craving.

Can't afford fancy deity statues? Use acrylic paint and candle medium to paint symbols on your God and Goddess candles: For the Goddess: use the triple moon, spiral, or the Goddess position symbol.  For the God: use the sun, the stag, or the God symbol.

For any Spell: anoint the candle with oil and roll it in a corresponding herb until the candle is covered.

Skull Shaped Candles: use for Samhain, ancestral work, or any magic having to do with the head, mind, or death.

Heart Shaped Candles: Use for any love magic or magic concerning the heart, both emotional and physical.

Pumpkin or Food Shaped Candles: use for harvest celebrations, magic concerning prosperity or abundance, and even for health and diet spells.

Star Shaped Candles: use for dream work, astral travel, and magic concerning success.

Square Shaped Candles: these come in handy for any earth magic or material things.

For home magic, paint a square candle with acrylic paint and candle medium to look like the house of building you're trying to represent.

Trying to acquire a new computer? Paint a square candle to look like a new computer.

Pyramid Shaped Candles: these work well for goals that require a lot of steps that need to be taken. Using paint, separate the pyramid into the amount of steps you need to take to achieve your goal and paint symbols within each layer. As each layer burns down, you are one step closer to your goal.  Also, any goal needing a lot of power could use pyramid candles.

Sphere Shaped Candles: great for lunar magic and magic concerning wholeness.

Paint a sphere candle to look like the earth and use it for magic concerning the world. This also makes a great North candle for your circle.

Gel Aquarium Candles: (You know, the ones in the little glass bowls with the shell embeds in them?) these make great West quarter candles and if you can find bird candles, those do great for representing East.

Hand Shaped Candles: these make great sympathetic magic when working on matters of craftsmanship or handy work. Any job where one uses their hands, like writers or sculptors.

Light a hand candle when you need a helping "hand" with something - or perhaps when working with palmistry.

Santa Clause Candles: found everyone around Xmas time and come in handy for working with the God, or any magic where the spirit of giving is needed.

Reindeer Candles: makes for a good representation of the God or for some animal magic.

Egg Shaped Candles: you can find these around Easter time and use them in your Ostara circle, or for magic where birth or fertility energy is needed.

Bunny or Rabbit Candles: also an Easter find, grab some and use in Ostara rituals to represent the March Hare. You can also use these for animal and fertility magic.

Cupid Candles: (Or to be more correct, Eros) can be found around Valentine's Day and used to represent the God Eros in any love magic you perform.

Flower Shaped Candles: use for springtime celebrations as well as beauty or plant magic.
