The Pagan Path

When did you first realize that the pagan path was for you?
(question from 'Witches Weekly')

I've always known, one way or another that the Pagan path was for me - the path had been laid before me for as long as I can remember, I just didn't have the name for it until around the age of thirteen.

At lucky number thirteen, instead of being a Pagan on the inside while wearing the guise of Christianity (namely Roman Catholicism), I began to walk the path with open intent, despite being the only one in a small town where Christianity was 'the way'.

The shape of my path as a Pagan has gone thus: I walked the path without a name because it was the path I felt most natural as I grew and shaped myself from a small child to a young adult.

The path then came to a fork where I could choose consciousness or continue on my path, though without much thought.

I chose consciousness and the path led to rebellion of the beliefs put upon me for as long as I could remember - the ones who told me that "this is the way" without considering my opinion on the matter.

During this slightly bumpy stretch, was a whole lot of eager learning about this path of mine, now that I knew it had a name.

This learning stretch, after a long time, began to wane and eventually became balanced with more practice and the actually "walking" of the path rather than purely learning about it.

That is where my path has led my thus far, after alot of bumps and swerves, my path is now smooth and enjoyable.

Of course there is always bumps and swerves and times when I walk my path much slower or much faster, but I'm happy walking my way - on the Pagan Path.
